I could believe this. After all, the GB seems to have the greatest insight into Satan and his demons and all of their past and future activities. They also have the solutions using the scriptures to get demons out of your life. Beware of going to garage sales, especially in places like Salem, Mass. Don't play Dungeons and Dragons. Say Jehovah three times if they bother you and it will scare them away. Why, they even know the scriptures to back up their knowledge.

Child sacrifice
by veen inso everyone always goes on about how terrible baal worshipers were, sacrificing their children to him etc.
do not parents therefore, of children who die from not accepting blood, carry out a very similar act.
essentially, they allow their children to die just to please their god, and would be praised for standing firm right to the end, as they stood by and watched their child slowly slip away, knowing that they could save their life at any time.

Well said. After I became a mom, I already knew what decision I would make for my son. I would give permission for a blood transfusion or any other type of medical care to save his life. When I had surgery, I told them I was a Witness but gave them permission to give blood if they absolutely needed to. There is no way my son would lose his mother. I would worry about what the elders had to say later. I felt very guilty, but if I saved my child, I would be well worth any punishment from heaven and earth. It's selfish to sacrifice a life by denying medical care to save your own butt through Armegeddon.

Proof: Watchtower "Following Christ" is a Fraud (wt8/1/07)
by metatron inthe august 1 watchtower contains a life story by a sister stigers "who finished her earthly course on april 20, 2007".
if you think that this cult.
has suddenly re-found jesus, forget it.

It's another bait and switch, just like their convention title. They use Jesus and Christ as buzz words to hook people's attention, then slowly they start minimizing his importance.

Name one thing the JW's would like to see changed in their religion?
by JH inlets say the jw's were allowed to write down on a piece of paper, without anyone knowing who wrote what, one thing that they would like changed in their religion, what do you think most jw's would want changed?

I always wished for one meeting during the week and then the meeting on Sundays. I hated giving talks, so I thought the ministry school and book study could be combined and everyone could meet at the KH and separate into different groups there. In addition, these meetings could be cut down to 1-1/2 and maybe even 1 hour. Since most people studied their Watchtower and book study assignment, they could skip the paragraph reading. Even if you didn't study, how hard was it to pick the answers out of the paragraph?
I wished that I would be a happy dub too, but that didn't happen either

IT IS EASIER TO LEAVE JWS IF NONE OF YOUR FAMILY ARE JWS
by steve2 inone of the biggest - if not the biggest barriers - to leaving the organization is family ties - particularly immediate family (i.e., those living in your household: sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, mother-in-laws, father-in-laws).
i know of no bigger barrier.
therefore, it's relatively easy to predict who will face the most adversity in trying to leave.

Man, that is so true. I have always said that. I have envied people who can just walk away with no repercussions. Family is why. That makes me very unlucky as my entire family, brothers their children wives and my parents are all still in. It makes me feel like the ultimate blacksheep and scum bag.
You have a really bad situation, I feel badly for you and others who struggle with this. My mom and sister are in, but we still have a relationship. Don't put yourself down because you are smart enough to care about your self-worth and don't need to be a puppet. Everyone has their own reasons why they are a dub and remain a dub. You are the healthiest, strongest person in your family, in my opinion.

The Time and Effort you gave as a JW is worthless
by JH inthis always bugged me.. no matter how much you did or spent for the watchtower, the moment you stop attending meetings and stop going out in the field service, it's as if you never did anything.
isn't it written someplace in the bible that god remembers your actions of the past?.
when i became inactive many years ago, i realized that all i did as a jw was down the drain because i stopped going to meetings and going out in the field service.. .

I try not to think about the wasted loyalty with meetings, conventions, pioneering. After the 1975 thing, I too started thinking the big "A" was not coming in my lifetime. I started living with this in mind and it helped me move forward with some goals. I couldn't get to all my goals because of what I lost being in the Borg. My mind and talents wasted away. I had the "spiritually weak" label for years, but it didn't bother me. I was so burnt out, I couldn't do all the dub stuff anymore. I can't see any good reason for wasting away as a dub for 38 years, but I'm just glad that I got out. I am trying to make up for lost time, and it's going really well

Why are "Born-Agains" distancing themselves from the term "born-again"?
by booker-t ini remember in the 80's all you would ever hear was "i am a born-again christian" or "i am born-again" or jesus, jesus, jesus.
every other word was jesus.
now in the year 2007 born-agains seem to run away from the term "born-again".

I think everyone started claiming they were "born-again". Maybe they are trying to change their image and keep their individuality.

Amazing how much time I have with my family now.
by lrkr ini have been fading pretty fast over the last several months.
it is amazing how much time service, meetings and the before and after meeting socializing takes away from your life.
i have noticed that i have more time to spend with my family, my marriage feels better and i spend more one-on-one time with my son.

Enjoy! The quality of your life is getting better and better. It's great not to be scheduled 24-7. Being a dub is like having a second job with overtime. Long-term, your son will benefit greatly from spending more time with you and getting guidance from you, not the Borg.

"But what do i tell the friends?"
by zack inso three weeks ago my wife and i had an emotional discussion wherein i finally told her that this religion was not the truth.
there was much emotion, a chill has ensued in our relationship.
(i haven't been to a meeting in 4 months now, and have not reported time in two months) i am sure many of you know the drill.. towards the end of our conversation, she asks: but what do i tell the friends when they ask about you?.

She's going to be under a lot of pressure to explain why you aren't there. She will also endure all kinds of comments from "the friends". She's left "holding the bag" so to speak. It will be tough for her since they are so relentless in their probing. She is probably in survival mode right now. Give her some time to get through this. She may see things your way in time. Hang in there.

I have more friends than ever! They have watched my transformation and say I'm more fun to be around.
